Terms of sale & licence

Last updated: 31 October 2026

These terms cover buying Stepista and using it. "We" means Jeffry Viveros Angola, trading as Stepista (see the legal notice); "you" means the person who buys or uses it.

1. How the sale works

On this website, Stepista is sold through Link, a Stripe service, which acts as merchant of record: your receipt says "Sold through Link", and Link handles the checkout, payment, taxes, receipts and invoices under its own terms. We grant you the licence to use Stepista under these terms. The price is shown on this website and at checkout, with taxes included, and you pay it once.

After paying you get a licence key on the confirmation page and by email. Keep that email: the same key re-activates Stepista after a reinstall.

If you bought your licence key from a store, the sale is between you and that store. The store is the seller and handles payment, taxes, receipts, invoices and refunds under its own terms, instead of Link. Your key comes from the store, and if you lose it, the store replaces it. These terms still cover the licence and how you use Stepista.

2. Try it first: the demo

The download on this website is the full plugin. Without a licence it runs as a demo: everything works except Save .mid… and Drag to DAW. The demo has no time limit. Please use it to check that Stepista works in your DAW and on your computer before you buy. We have tested it in Ableton Live; other hosts should work but haven't been verified yet.

3. The licence

  • Perpetual: you pay once and can keep using the version you have for as long as you like. Updates we publish for Stepista are included at no extra cost.
  • Personal, for up to 3 computers: the licence is for one person, who may activate it on up to three computers at the same time. To move it, deactivate it on a computer you no longer use.
  • Your music is yours: the MIDI patterns you create with Stepista are yours to use in your music, including commercially.
  • What you may not do: share or resell your licence key, redistribute the plugin, or bypass the licence check. You may not reverse-engineer the software except where the law expressly allows it.

4. Activation and internet

Activating needs an internet connection. The plugin re-checks the licence with our server when it can; without a connection it keeps working for up to 14 days after the last successful check, then returns to demo mode until it can check again.

5. Refunds

Within 14 days of a purchase on this website, we refund you in full, no questions asked. Write to support@stepista.com from the email you used at checkout, or contact Link support, which handled your payment. The refund goes back to your original payment method, and refunding disables the licence key.

Link may also issue refunds under its own policies. None of this limits your legal rights if Stepista doesn't work as described.

If you bought from a store, ask the store for a refund: its refund policy applies, along with your legal rights against it as the seller. We can't refund a store purchase ourselves. When a store refunds a key, it tells us and we disable the key.

6. When a licence is disabled

A licence is disabled if its payment is refunded or disputed (chargeback). If a dispute is resolved in our favour, we re-enable it. We may also disable a key that has been shared publicly or obtained fraudulently. For a key bought from a store, this happens once the store tells us about the refund or dispute.

7. Support

For anything about Stepista, your licence or activations, write to support@stepista.com. For payment questions (receipts, invoices, charges) you can also use Link support. Bug reports and ideas are welcome on the feedback page. If you bought from a store, questions about payment, refunds or a lost key go to the store.

8. Liability

We build Stepista with care, but software can have bugs, and we can't guarantee it will work with every host, system or configuration. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost data, projects or profits), and our total liability is limited to the price you paid. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for intent or gross negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version published when you bought applies to your purchase; changes apply to purchases made after we publish them.

10. Law

These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts there. Personal data is handled as described in the privacy policy.
