What's new in version 2

  • Learn: drop one of your own MIDI clips on Stepista and every pattern after that follows your rhythm, your intervals, your range.
  • Saved patterns keep their learned session, so you can reload them later.
  • What stays: the 24 presets, and with a licence, Save .mid and drag-to-DAW.

Before you install

Installing version 2 replaces 1.x in your DAW — projects that use 1.x will load version 2 instead. You can try it before you buy: everything works except Save .mid and drag-to-DAW, which unlock with a licence. Prefer to stay on 1.x? 1.0.5, the last 1.x release, stays available, with no updates or support.

Install

  • Quit your DAW and open the .pkg installer. If macOS says it can't verify the installer, close the message with Done or OK (not Move to Trash). Then open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to Security, click Open Anyway and confirm with your Mac password. The button only shows for about an hour after you try to open the installer; on macOS 12 or earlier it's in System Preferences → Security & Privacy → General.
  • Quit your DAW, unzip the download and follow its INSTALL.txt.
  • When you buy, your licence key arrives by email and on the page you see after paying. Paste it into Stepista and it unlocks in place, with no second download.

macOS 11 or later, Apple silicon or Intel. Windows 64-bit, with the Microsoft Edge WebView2 runtime (pre-installed on Windows 11 and most Windows 10 PCs). Tested in Ableton Live; other hosts in progress.
